Well its been a long week. Though I have to admit not as long for me as for Tanya. Tanya has been doing all the late night get up and fed/change the baby stuff for which I am very gratefully. Jared is doing good. He is growing and getting as cute as ever. Like all of my baby's they get to a point where they end up on my desk between me and the computer. Displayed are some of the cute pictures we have gotten of him. I have also updated Becca's page and added the Pictures page. Have a greater day and enjoy the pictures.

Well today is the day. We woke up this morning at 6am to prepare for our day at the hospital. They called us at 7:15 or so and let us know that we could come in and get started. We made it to the hospital and into our room by 8am. By the time we got there they realized that they were a little busy (2 walk ins in labor just as we got there) we were seen first by our Dr, Dr Loydd who started by breaking Tanya's water. Other then the Dr visit we were basically ignored for most of the next 2 hours (in fact we went through 2 nurses before they got the paperwork done). They finally were able to spare a nurse after an hour or so to get her iv's started and the drugs in her that got her contractions going.

The contractions progressed very slowly. At around 1pm my mother showed up with James and Rebecca who thought this was all fun and games tell time dragged on for 3 hours with no change in site. At this point we started trying to get the kids out and distracted. Grandma took the kids over to the gift store and bought some balloons and flowers and a few other items. They had the balloons hooked to a metal wire that was suppose to keep the balloons from floating away. Just after they walked into the room with them Rebecca lost her balloon and it floated up, up, and away. This was the first of the disasters for her of the day.

Grandpa showed up after work around 5pm and it ended up being his job to distract the kids. We were hoping that the baby would be born by the time the kids got out of school. So much for my plans. Grandpa took the kids for a walk around the hospital. They found some ducks in a court yard which grandpa told the kids they could not go into. I being the nieve dad took the kids over to see the ducks. (at this point it was taking a little to long for even me) Little did I know that they were killer ducks. (Or should I say that the mother duck was very concerned for her 10 baby ducks.) Rebecca and James decided that maby we should catch one of the baby ducks. And being a kid myself I joined the chase. We were pretty close to catching one when the mother duck decided that she would have to protect her kids from us. It snapped at me which made me decide we had enough of the ducks. I told Becca and James that we needed to leave when becca made one last attempt to grab a baby duck the mother duck tried to pluck Becca's eye out for chasing her little babies around. Needless to say Rebecca has a new found respect for mothers that are trying to protect there babies. Any way to get the story to the conclusion (like any one is going to read this your just going to look at the pictures) We started pushing at around 7 pm (wow 12 hours after we started this) any way 3 serious pushes and out pops baby Jared. I took 40+ pictures and I edited about 1/3 of them tonight and since its now 3am in the morning I am just going to toss some of them up so that you all have something to look at and them im off to bed. I will write more in the morning.

Well I got into trouble today from James. He gave me a hard time because I have added nothing to the site in a couple of days. I told him I cant say any thing if there is nothing to say. Well I suppose I do have something to say today. We again went to the Dr today and Tanya is dilated to a 2 now and Dr said that it will have to be good enough and that he will start her on friday. The plan is for 7am friday morning. But that was my plan any way. Other then that friday ends the school year for the kids which ends James 3rd grade and Becca will graduate thursday from kinder garden (Graduate? That's sort of a stretch) Any way the school year will be over soon.

Well the baby is not here yet. No big surprise I guess since well we don't expect it tell next friday. Becca and James I think will drive Tanya completely crazy though before this baby shows up. They keep talking 24/7 and Tanya is so tired that she cant even sleep any more. Well only a few days to go I guess we will all live.

Well another day has come and working on going. Were still waiting for the baby. We have been rearrange the house to get ready for the baby. Originally the plan was to put Jared in my computer room. I set up the crib and got every thing ready (Realizing then that I could not even turn around) and to add to it we got a heat wave a week ago or so and as normal in the summer my computer room got exceedingly hot (with a dozen pices of computer equipment running 24/7 it gets hot) it then hit me that if I leave the poor baby in the computer room I will roast it. So well one of us had to go. Well I lost. And out I go. So I scoped out the house for a better location for all the computers. At first the front room came to mind. But Tanya about had a cow (I could have sworn she was pregnant with a Human as Becca tells me when I tell her moms going to have a cow if she dose something) any way I lost that debate. So the next thought was to go to the family room in the basement. But I did not really want that room. So I set my sites on James room. And I threw him out. (I actually had to convince James it was his idea to get him to move). Any way how do I move all the furniture. After all Tan is pregnant So I decided the bunk bed to Becca's room (where both kids are temp quartered) then move my office to James old room. You should see some one try to drag hug furniture up and down stairs by there self's. Oh well. I am now in my new office (and I have to say its nice about 3 times the room as before). Oh ya this page is suppose to be about Jared. Tanya is still pregnant and she is laying around all weekend. She clams she is baking a baby and she needs the rest.

We went to the Dr today and got us an ultra sound. In case there was any wonder we know for sure its a boy (we only had a really good guess before). They say based on the ultra sound that the baby size is about 7 1/2 pounds with a +/- error ratio of 1 pound. Which means the baby could most probly already be 8 1/2 pounds well on its way to 9 pounds. Tanya is happy to know that its not going to be a 10 pound baby(she has been really stressed about this). The deliver of James scared us all but her it hurt her allot and she has been very stressed about delivering another boy. We do have news though. The Dr tentatively scheduled the induction for next Friday that would be June 4th, 2004. We have a Dr appointment scheduled for next wed to check on her and make sure she is dilating (she is around a 1 now what ever that means, you know us men we understand nothing) Any way its a waiting game now.

Thursday May 27, 2004 Happy B-Day (well Tanya's any way)

Well its Tanya's B-day. The kids and I went last night and bought a Cake and some flowers. Tanya said she wanted clothing that she could wear after being pregnant so the kids and I will hold off on the presents tell then. Tanya went to work today and all is well but she is tired. Originally we planed to go to lunch as family but at the last minit Tan decided she would ruther sleep and instead slept for the lunch hour instead of going out for lunch.

When James got home from school today he ran down stairs to check and see if any thing is new on the baby watch. Well nothing has changed (that I know of) and he was telling me how much he loves his brother and I thought it would be nice if he was able to put a few words on paper about his brother. After he wrote the page I typed it up and added it here to the site. You can find it here or you can find it on menu to the left listed as James Page.

Tanya seems to be in a better mood today. She went to work and worked all day. She came home in a good mood. Last night James got an award at pack meeting and to reward him mom took him out to dinner just mom and James. She is still pregnant and she still wants the baby out sooner then later but she now is willing to wait tell at least Friday morning. Heaven help the Doc if he does not have good news for her she just might choke him. Other then that here at the home front we are just in a sit and wait mood. The cat's have recently found the crib and now think that its a great place to bed down. Jared better get here fast or he just may have to compete to get a place to sleep around here. Oh well such is life. Guess the cats are saying they are waiting to have a crib mate!

Well Tanya is still pregnant and as moody as ever. We went to the Dr today and he gave her a check up and told her to report back in a week for another check up. While this did not sit so well with Tanya and she gave the Dr a piece of her mind. Needless to say she will not be waiting a week for her next checkup. In fact its scheduled for Friday morning. They will be doing a ultrasound to check the baby's size. Our worry is that this baby will be too big (James was 9'12 and Becca was 9 even) any way back to the waiting game I guess.

May 20, 2004

In the beginning there was Tanya and then she was pregnant And boy oh boy (yes its a boy) she is pregnant and she is HUG! Oh wait. I get into trouble when I say things like that. She is hardly pregnant at all just a little big. You can hardly notice. Ya that's the politically correct version of the story. Any way Tanya is pregnant with Jared Dean Healey who's official due date is June 13, 2004.

Jared will be the 3rd child of Richard and Tanya Healey. There other 2 children are James age 9 and Becca age 6. You will find more information about the Healey family listed on the Family Story Page I will continue to update this page as there becomes more to update. And will from time to time add more pictures of Jared and Tanya and well for that matter the rest of our family.
